The “Endeavour Cup” teacher-student badminton competition was held at the Hangzhou City University (HZCU) Gymnasium from March 26 to 29,2024. A team of Chinese and foreign staff and students from the University of Waikato Joint Institute at Hangzhou City University (NZUWI) prepared for this competition with enthusiasm and determination.

The competition consists of five events: Mixed Doubles, Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Women's Doubles and Men's Doubles, each of which is a test of skill, tacit understanding and perseverance. When faced with challenges, the team worked hard and communicated with each other, trying to make progress on the court. With every swing of the racket, the sense of collective honour and sportsmanship were shown to the fullest in them.

Finally, with the final cheers, the teacher-student badminton competition came to an end and the team from NZUWI won the third place with an excellent performance.

Through this competition, teachers and students were able to compete with each other in sports, receiving spiritual encouragement and deeper friendship. The purpose of this competition is not only to enhance the understanding and respect between teachers and students, and to create a united, civilised and harmonious environment, but also strengthen sportsmanship.
