The Day of Returning School
2020-06-01

In the process of returning to school, the University of Waikato Joint Institute at Zhejiang University City College (NZUWI) sent out young volunteers to ensure every battle was a win: the first team was made up of teachers. All staff including our dean, secretary and instructors devoted themselves into helping students with luggage. The second team was made up of student representatives, who manned the battlefield. No matter how tired and busy they were, they were still willing to help. The third group was composed of student volunteers. Additionally, many students registered in the morning, and  joined the volunteer team that afternoon to help carry luggage. The fourth group was composed of ground personnel. The property managers, security guards and cleaners worked together to ensure students could learn and study in a safe environment.

In this issue, let's look back at the performance of the volunteers and thank all those who took part and actively contributed.

 volunteers for registration

Volunteers of NZWUI ensured students kept a safe distance with others while waiting for registration.

Volunteers helped students complete the registration process of one person, one application form, one health code.

No matter how heavy the luggage was, they all overcame the challenge..

Something no one wanted to mention was the damp and sweaty face masks while we were welcoming students back.

During peak time of registration, volunteer students were rushing between the North and South campus  and had no time to rest. No matter how much sweat they worked up, they wouldn’t stop helping new registrants with their luggage.

The distance between the North and South Campus was a piece of cake. Let me breath a while so that I could continue to carry.

The newly registered freshman changed into school uniform and engaged in volunteering as soon as they completed their registration.

At 18:15, the last student completed registration.

According to the Epidemic Prevention and Control Requirements, face-to-face teaching took the way of online learning. Teachers, students, security guards and cleaners worked together to keep a safe interaction distance. NZUWI used our brightly coloured tape to separate seats.
