STUDENT LSC PROTOCOLS

1.      Students must bring with them relevant materials to all LSC sessions, including:

a.       Textbook(s) of the course from which they have been referred (UE or AE).

b.      Pens, pencils, and any other necessary stationery, and

c.       Laptop or other mobile computing device, or

d.      Paper notebook or writing pad for taking notes.

 

2.      Students must follow the rules of the LSC rooms, including:

a.       No food or drink, except for bottled water (or plain, unsweetened tea).

b.      No using cell phones or making/receiving phone calls, except with permission.

c.       No conversations with other students except group activities, or with permission.

d.      No speaking in Chinese during LSC sessions; and no writing notes in Chinese.

 

3.      Please behave responsibly toward the ASAO and LSC staff by following these guidelines:

a.       If you make an appointment for a LSC session, please keep your appointment.

b.      If you cannot keep your appointment, it should only be for emergency reasons or sickness—and you must provide evidence to the ASAO.

c.       If you cancel your appointment on the same day, or do not keep your appointment without a valid reason (and produce a medical certificate, if due to sickness), you will not be able to make another appointment until the following week.

d.      If you are late, your session will still finish according to your scheduled appointment.

e.       Please do not come to the LSC if you are sick with an infectious disease such as a cold, cough, fever, flu, etc.—get a medical certificate and cancel. If the LSC has reason to believe you are sick with an infectious disease, staff may ask you to leave.

f.       If you suffer from allergies that cause mild sneezing or coughing, be considerate and use a facemask. If you do not, LSC staff may ask you to leave to get one.

 

4.      If your LSC session involves the checking of work for a written assignment (including checking notes for oral presentations), such as spelling, style, formatting, etc., you may not make an appointment within 72 hours of the due date of the assignment. (We have a list of presentation and essay due dates, so we will know the due dates, and if it is due in less than 72 hours, we may ask you to leave.)

 

5.      Your teacher can make a LSC appointment for you, which means you must attend; or you can make an appointment yourself by sending an email request to LSC-NZUWI@zucc.edu.cn. Please include (i) class code (e.g., BBA1704A); (ii) Pinyin and English name; (iii) student number; (iv) desired session; (v) reason for wanting to attend.
